Bucharest, October 2009 – Given that Romania has the most potential of all new EU members in terms of renewable energy development and also the imperative to grasp this huge opportunity, Eurobuild Conferences announces the organization, on Monday, September 19, 2009, at the Radisson SAS Hotel, of a conference on Romania’s renewable energy.

Insofar as the size of “green energy” in the energy domestic consumption grid is announced to become more ambitious than ever, the theme of the conference is all the more appealing for the Romanian authorities and decision-making factors.  With the direct support and intervention of foreign and local personalities in this field, talks will debate on the improvements needed to be made immediately in the legal and regulatory environment.

Under the current context, the crucial step for Romania is to adjust the regulatory framework with the purpose of facilitating the development of wind power projects for Romanian and foreign investors. The legal provisions for Law 220/2008 on the support system for energy from renewable sources need to be elaborated for enabling this law’s proper implementation. An essential issue in this respect, also on the agenda of the event, is the national system’s limited capacity to integrate the energy surplus supplied by renewable sources.

The adjustment of the legislative/regulatory framework affecting the economics of the projects and market penetration of the Renewable Energy Sources stands for a key issue on the conference’s schedule.

These and other topics, including a comprehensive update on latest technologies and advances in leading renewable energy sources, the grid integration of Renewable Energy Systems, the current situation concerning Green Certificates or the bankability factor of Renewable energy Projects, will be presented and discussed at this timely and specific conference on Romania’s challenge to become a positive benchmark on the EU energy market.

Preeminent speakers will include, among others:

  • Alexandru Valeriu Binig, Advisory Services / Energy & Resources / Corporate Finance, Deloitte Consultanta S.R.L.
  • Silvia Vlasceanu, Industry & Services Commission, The Chamber of Deputies
  • Dan Preotescu, Manager, Network Development Planning and System Studies, Transelectrica
